4:2:0 vs. 4:2:2 -

Is there a noticeable difference when viewing a finished project on either a hi-def tv or the web when it has been edited in 4:2:0 or 4:2:2? I'll be recording in 1080p 24 and will either be buying Neoscene or VoltaicHD. If editing in 4:2:2 doesn't make a big difference in the end I'll just go with VoltaicHD.

Just editing: probably not.
Editing + colour correction/effects, "looks": yes - most likely YES!!!

One can get away with a 4:2:0 delivery format, but 4:2:0 > 4:2:2 is just like being a 4:2:0 on steroids and growth hormone drugs in front of the testing commission.
Big/bigger and fat/fatter, but not much substance.

At 4:1:1 color sampling you only get 1-red and 1-blue video pixel for every 4 pixels in your image. This blurs color and causes serious color bleed on deep colors and destroys the crispness of your images. 4:2:2 video has twice the color resolution, so your video won’t suffer soft and smeared color.

This graphic is a bit exaggerated, but you get the picture.
