3x3 filters

[dlang]

Just wondering if I would run into problems if I went with a mattebox like cavision that holds 3x3 filters? the filters are half the price so I thought it would be a good way to save....what's the draw back, I've heard on wide angle there is a possibility of vignetting, can someone confirm this and any other helpful details.

Yeah, 3X3 is pretty small, you will probably run into some vignetting problems around 28mm and under, depending on the setup. IMHO, I would really recommend just sticking to renting the glass when you need it, just because of how expensive filters are these days. You will save yourself a lot renting, and you'll have the convenience of 4X5 or 6X6 filters.
