3D Track Motion in Vegas - Example

It's a great entry, too, David! I think the explosions and spinning props are wonderful. Never would have thought to do that. Thanks for the entry, and hey...a tutorial on how you did it might be cool!

Very well done, the most creative entry of the bunch. And yes, a tutorial would be great.

Well . . .

I’ve been developing this style and technique for a while now with plans to make a couple of shorts and possibly a feature with it, so at the moment, I consider it something of a trade secret. Not forever, but for right now.

But it’s something that’s absolutely doable in Vegas. I appreciate the compliments.

I have to admit, I just watched the top ones & there was something about REFLECTIONS that was very cool. I can see why it took 1st, but I'd have to say David that yours should have given it MUCH more a run for the money than it did ... yours was WAY better than anything else that placed a head of it.

And for me, what would have put you in first, is that it had some story to it vs. just a bunch of cool images/transitions. So with that, I wish you HAD taken first. Regardless, thanks for sharing, and some cool work (especially the spinning props ... very pro).

Thanks, Norm . . .

Yeah, I agree; a little more story would have made it better (though considering the vote spread, I don't think it would have mattered that much) . . . I put the thing together in about 36 hours because I just happened upon the Mustang model two days before entry was closed. I meant it to be more of a demo of capability.

Oh, well! I'm glad you all enjoyed.

Oops, hope you didn't misunderstand what I meant to say ... I MEANT that yours was better because it DID have some story. Sure, there could have been more perhaps, but considering the length of time, yours had more story than any others I had watched.

So, no "Oh well" needed. :)

Props on the spinning props! All of it, actually! Animal Farm was a slide show, so I don't see where it was in the top 3.

Very cool work! Wonder what I can do in FCP ....

Very nice work David. I'm suprised that you didn't finish higher than you did because it was an excellent submission and showed me things I didn't even know you could do with Vegas. Really amazing work.
