what kind of program/technique was used to create this. any guesses?

also, i know this is just a picture but it is animated in their videos ad's too.

Looks like a plugin 3d invigorator pro to me but there's probably a lot more ways to achieve this effect.

It's a very simple extrusion. Any basic 3d software can do it.

it would have to been modeled to achieve the way "of the show" forms with the K of "attack". any 3d application would do this.

Pretty sure Royal Pictures did this... who uses C4D.

HI yes this is a 5 minute job in 3ds max. Im sure this wasnt done within aftereffects. This is the work of a 3d proggy like max. But this is the simplest of what you can do with max. If you were to do this in max the lighting etc can be made to look much more natural. But unless this was the look the creator wanted. But some other non 3d progs like Boris have some plugins which can create 3d text with extrusions and reflective metalic surfaces etc.
