I have some steroscopic footage of my friend's wedding to get onto blu ray, but that's another story. I get the general impression that I can author a BD containing the m2ts files, and any 2D player will ignore the SSIF folder.
Having just bought my first 3D monitor (nvidia 3D vision glasses) I thought I'd watch my Tron Legacy disc. I'm a bit baffled as to why they included a 2D BD and a second BD for 3D, stating "Plays in blu ray 3D player only"? Looking at the BD 3D on my PC it's just a regular m2ts and ssif folder layout.
Would it be fair to assume they included the second BD to make it look worth more money, or would the 2D version contain better quality video and audio tracks that have to be compromised for 3D capacity?
