35mm plus squeeze 16:9 = Yuk

I just wrapped a series of shoots no my DVX. We shot with the Extreme and we shot in Squeeze 16:9. Adapters lower the sharpness of an image and I know shooting squeeze does the same. The two together was just not great. It is for web delivery so it is fine. Anyone else have a similar experience.

Kind of. Here is something I shot (squeezed) with the M2 and Pentax 50mm 1.4f... http://designographic.com/drurylane/drury_web1.wmv

I wasn't super happy with the final results but I did like some shots. How does your compare sharpness-wise? I read somewhere that shooting letterbox is better when using 35mm adapter. Next shoot I will try that.

Also, I think I may be biased because I've been looking at too much HD footage lately.

I shoot squeeze with my Brevis for everything and while the footage is soft on a computer monitor, on a TV (even my plasma) it looks just fine to me. Obviously not HD but I find the results perfectly passable. I keep my sharpness at 0 now instead of -7 when it was the stock lens.

Here is something I did with squeeze and the Brevis and I think it is plenty sharp.
