35mm Plans

What you think? I've got a nice GG material that, isn't a CD, that'll be great for this project. I tried it with the Daniel's Vibrating holder, but the vibration wasn't able to rid all of it. So I'm going with a Spinner. What's the recommended RPM's? I've got one that's 9v at or around 18k RPM, but I plan on using a potentiometer to slow it down if I want to.

all the best,

Myabe you should use it vertically. What is the grey bar? A cd player spinning with 3 1.5v AA's gets rid of the most horrid grain/scratches.

I did the Vertical design in print and am still contemplating using it. But with the wider design I liked the look. Being vertical you get the same effect. It's not a frosted CD. The GG is a specially made material that is very pleasant to look at. Plus it doesn't offset it too much from the camera. I'll still have to use rails, but it won't hang five inches lower than the camera. I saw your Design Reaktor where yours is on the bottom, but I don't like the look of it. No offense. This isn't a CD rom motor. It's a 9v DC motor I bought at a hobby shop. I went with a high speed motor because I wasn't sure how fast it needed to spin. So getting a really high and slowing it down will be better than getting a slow motor and having to speed it up. The grey bar is a handle similar to the SG pro. I like being able to carry it around and not feel like I'm gonna drop it.

i would agree that you need a higher volt motor and slow it down rather than to speed it up. It produces lesser vibration.

As to your 9v battery, if this is the rectangular boxy type nine volt. I wont recommend it. I suggest you go with the 2x 1.5v AA batteries since these have a bigger amp compared to the 9v. The AA will last longer at a longer consistent power compared to the 9v.
