35mm lenses

Hi folks,

I have an HVX200 and the SGblade. I just got a Carl Zeiss f1.4 50mm (worked like a charm for my last music video) for the adapter because I really needed a fast lens for darker scenes but is there any other fast manual aperture/focus lens out there in the market? I went to one of my retailers and he told me actually only Carl Zeiss produced lenses with this kind of manual setup. Is it real? Nobody else is interested in the market of manual lenses?

Thank you guys for any feedback on brands/lenses you might know of!! (I've got a Nikon mount but could also get some other adapter ring for other mountings)

What the retailer said is true for the photographer world. The Zeiss lens is a bit of an anomaly in that they're the only one to make fully manual lenses. For taking stills AF is almost always preferred. For cinema the reverse is obviously true but cinema lenses can easily costs 10x as much as their still photography cousins. The way to go is to buy used older still lenses that are still manual focus, and that opens up a lot of option. Nikon have them, as does Canon FD, Minolta etc. Check out keh.com for their used selection.
