35mm Lens Adapters

Okay... so here's the deal: I recently bought an XH A1, and now I'm looking to buy a good 35mm lens adapter - and, consequently, good 35mm lenses.

There are many 35mm lens adapters and lenses out there... which ones are the best for the Xh A1 - shooting in HD, of course, not SD.

Also... the A1 doesn't flip the image... which sucks big time. Are there good HD 35mm lens adapters that flip it? Or should I wait a bit, even though I want to buy it very soon, until the technology develops?

Thanks in advance...

It seems that the three top frontrunners in the 35mm adapter world that are affordable currently are the M2, the Brevis and the SGPro. They all do a very good job. The Brevis is the only one that uses oscillation to move the Ground Glass (where the image from your adapted 35mm lens appears). The other two use spinning Ground Glass. Because of that they are a bit larger and need rails to properly use them. The Brevis is a smaller design that mounts without rails (though if you are using long lenses, you may want rails) and can be easier to use handheld. M2 seems to have the most lightloss, Brevis the least. The SGPro seems to sit in the middle for lightloss. The Brevis has interchangeable Ground Glass which allows for various looks and Bokeh, and now has variable rate oscillation to adjust it when filming with high shutter speeds. All these units are good and when in the right hands can create excellent filmic pictures. You should check out all their websites and much video has been posted in the HVX 200 section under screengrabs and video using all these tools.

Im using the M2 with the A1, results are good but man you have to really pump the light.

This next part is only MY opinion on reading reviews and no actual experience. The SGpro looks pretty good, less light loss than the m2 with a similar setup. Shots I have seen from the Brevis look pretty good on exteriors but have yet to see a lit interior that really worked well IN MY OPINION.

thats because the brevis has "custom" gg screens. each one has a special applicaion. while this provides good results, it sounds like a pain to work with.

The Letus35 also flips the image and its light loss seemed to be competitive with all the adapters mentioned.
