We're about to start a rather ambitious test series (with video summaries) using the HV20, XH-A1, and HPX500. The DSC labs Ambi rear illuminated chart system, with a 72db latitude, chroma, and res charts, will be used. The test setup is basically the cameras tethered via fireware to a laptop running OnLocation, outputing to a 42" 1080P panel. The panel will also host a 1080i output from each camera via component HD so we can show you "live" what we're doing.

Expect ASA ratings for each camera with/without the Brevis and CF1 or CF1Le.

Early res testing with an XH-A1 and Brevis flip is showing 600 lines at the corners, (pretty much what the XH-A1 was rated at in 1080i) and extremely clean with regard to CA. The bare cam actually shows more CA...but don't take my word for this until you see the clip!

This thread would be a good opportunity to give us your wish list for testing...
 
I love chart and hard data...But I would also love to see some side by side scenes. Challenging setups that push the latitude and color.
 
Well, we'll have Cinevate's first ever in-house production "Free Press" up tomorrow night after our screening party. The piece is about 10 minutes long, featuring CF1Le, and CF3Le. I think you'll find it satisfies your latitude and color requirements. Piotr Skowrownski wrote, shot, and edited it...with about 13 other volunteer crew working like mad over a 14 hour shoot. We're pretty excited here about it.
