35mm adapters with 1/2" chips

Has anyopne tested any of the 35mm adapters with 1/2" chip cameras.
We know so far that they don't seem to work with the 2/3" cameras unless a relay lens ala P+S is utilized.

Very relevant question with the EX-1 around the corner.

Do the improvements from the flip optics perhaps help with this?

Didn't work out with the HPX500 using it on the end of the Fujinon lens.

I would expect them to work on the EX1, as its design and such largely mimics the cameras that the adapters are known to work on.

I am very interested in the PMW-EX1. Is there any footage around of the camera? Will it mount to my SGpro? (Yeah I know it has been kinda answered by you Barry, thanks, just want to make sure. :))

HPX500 is 2/3" - i've tried that - No can do.
I seem to remember that Philip Bloom had been able to do it with a 1/2" JVC or something - Is there a 1/2" JVC.

Barry did you test the HPX with a Letus Extreme? I was wondering if those optics might be more flexible in that they for example allow you to zoom in on the screen so much more than the pre-flip units.

Re: the EX-1 - its a larger chip and there's no certainty that any of these units will work with it.

There were SD JVC 1/2" cams, the 500 and 5000.

I tested the HPX's 17x lens with the Extreme, and it was pretty much a no-go. Besides not working well, you really don't want to hang three pounds of weight off the end of a foot-long lens either.

We've got at least one user using the Brevis on his HPX500. It works, with an extra spacer ring added. Martin Kunert has posted on the forum about it a few times.

It's not so much a chip size but more has to do with the lenses ability to close focus. Perhaps a B mount with a macro may do the trick for HPX folks. I'm hoping the EX has Macro / Close focus capabilities.

I've been dreaming about subject to EX though SDI to AJA IO HD to Pro Rez 422 to Computer in real time.

Thanks, that's the thread I was thinking of. Actually not this forum by the way, though I get them confused as well. Yeah I thought it was Phillip.
Well that confirms both of my suspicions - That the 1/2 " chip cameras can work with the adapters, and that the flip optics can help the issue. My suspicion is that Dennis' upcoming flip will also work better, but its great to know the Extreme works. I'd like to try it on a 2/3" also.
Emailed Martin Kunert to find out his experience as i can't find any threads about this from him.

The ex combined with a flip brevis or letus extreme I think will be the ultimate adaptor combo because of the high resolution screen that let's you do critical focus without a Marshall monitor and its superb low light sensitivity

All the adaptors will but without a flip you won't be able to take advantage of that amazng LCD screen

Philip, what's your experience using both flip & Brevis with the 1/2" cams?

Whether the EX turns out to be as advertised still remains to be seen for most of us.

the extreme works really well with my f350. V nice combo but it makes a heavy camera very heavy. The brevis was ok but it needed lots spacers to get focus. The letus did not need any

The ex I saw so so impressive. I will hopefully have mine this week. As soon as I do I will post some footage
