35mm adapter

im sorry if this is in the wrong section but im new here.

i am looking into making my own 35mm adapter for my vx2000. i dont want to make one in one of those wooden cases, rather just one that all screws together and whatnot and i am just completly lost on how to make it so i get the best DOF possible. any help would be appreciated thanks
