I have a question. Will I still need a 35mm adapter to get that shallow depth of field using the HVX200?

the geurill35 is working with it.
the go35 is in the works with an HD version.
and redrock has posted some footy with the HVX
And I'd poo poo myself if Dan's MPIC didn't work with it.
as far as I know most are aiming for a vibrating system to minimize grain with HD formats.

Absolutely! But my wallet can't afford that. So I'll squeeze every last bit of cinematicness (probably not a word) out of the DVX that I can. I can see your point though. If you were planning on upgrading to the HVX it would make more sense to go with these higher end adapters or at least wait for some sort of suitable DIY solution that would work with HD. Just my two cents.

The Machinist said:I think most of the DIY 35mm adapters could be reconfigured for the HVX using a 72mm-82mm setp up ring.

Here's a link to one on B&H's site. It's only 10 bucks.
Please correct me if i'm wrong in this assumption.
edit* Aside from the considerations j brought up i guess this would just be a quick fix.
