35mm adapter "vibrating"

Hey guys-- the whole vibrating thing with either the SGpro or letus, how does that effect the shot or focus? Why does it have to vibrate? And do you feel it when shooting? I'm looking to get either adapter, haven't decided yet. Just got my HX-A1
thx John.......

Just to clarify...the Letus vibrates, the SGPro spins.

It vibrates to make the grain in the groundglass invisible.

Actually the SGpro uses a spinning groundglass (allows for higher shutterspeeds) - not sure about the Letus.

The vibration from the LEX can easily be felt in the camera and even through a tripod. It's pretty startling, but it doesn't seem to have any negative effect on image focusing.

Sgpro seems to give cleaner image under shutter speeds f4 and up.

I think that should read:

SGpro gives a cleaner image when using smaller apertures / higher f-stops (f/4 and up) and when using shutterspeeds of 1/120 or faster.

Sorry for being pedantic :)

Brevis can be felt all the way through the tripod too. Don't use OIS with vibrating adapters as the vibration throws the gyroscopes for a loop.

A spinning adapter such as the M2 or SGpro is superior to a vibrating, as the GG can become visible if you stop down too low or show a shot of a large bright thing (like the sky). Also with the vibrating ones if you get a spec of dust on the glass, when it vibrates it can create a little circle of dirt that shows up on your image, whereas a spinning adapter wont do this....

I'm new on this forum, and I have done some research. I wasn't able to find anything with more detail regaurding that. I think it's great that you can ask questions on this site and people try to help out with their knowlege and experiences.
