35mm adapter lens question, film, HD, canon, nikkon?! help

I'm looking on Ebay for lenses for a 35mm adapter (not sure which one yet, but i might eventually invest in a canon or nikkon camera to use with it). I'm going to buy a set of 3-4 primes and then a zoom.

1) would you all suggest either canon or Nikon for the lenses? I know canon is supposedly cheaper, but with the lenses i'd be willing to shell out a bit more cash. I also read somewhere that the distance between the connection on a nikon is less than the canon which makes it more ideal for the adapters, have you heard anything like this?

3) should I get 35mm lenses or digital SLR lenses (hell, is there a difference?). Also how do I know if a lense is HD or not? oh boy this is all complicated. thanks

haha come on now. I could sit here all day trying to soak in all of the breadth that this issue involves. And, while my approach isn't as couth as you would apprently like, I find that complimenting my individual research in a live environment via a forum to be productive. There's an extreme dichotomy between what can be read, experienced and discussed. Forums, specifically DVX user provide a unique resource that was not available years ago. It's a lovely environment...

That is until people like you show up with no intention other than being a sycophant. Kind of a wasteful pursuit i'd say. I find myself flummoxed over your behavior.

Of course I don't know what i'm doing. If you read the headline, i'm clearly acting like a n00b. The experience and knowledge that can be found on this board far rivals much of the other information online.

I've read through previous forums, i've looked on multiple websites, surfed ebay, and i was trying to make this thread the culmination of all of that knowledge... but apparently that was too much to ask from you.

You sir, are a forum troll.

1: "would you all suggest either canon or Nikkon for the lenses".

Your question makes no sense. Canon or Nikon, based on what? Price, quality, weight, looks, size, color, smell.....?

2: "the distance between the connection on a nikon is less than the canon which makes it more ideal for the adapters".

The difference between the connection. More ideal for adapters. How, why etc...?

3: "should I get 35mm lenses or digital SLR lenses".

Sorry, this is one of those that can only get a LOL.

4: "how do I know if a lense is HD or not".

Again, only a LOL is fitting.

It's clear you want the latest greatest add-on for your camera, without understanding why you need it, or how it works.

There are a multitude of very detailed descriptions and how-to's about the Mini35 out there. You say you've researched Mini35, but your questions say something quite the opposite.

"I've read through previous forums, i've looked on multiple websites, surfed ebay, and i was trying to make this thread the culmination of all of that knowledge".

How are your questions making this thread the culmination of all of that knowledge?

"You sir, are a forum troll"....LOL

"you show up with no intention other than being a sycophant"

sycophant \SIK-uh-fuhnt\, noun:
A person who seeks favor by flattering people of wealth or influence; a parasite; a toady.

You don't know me do you?????

LOL though, and thanks for the chuckle!

essentially a sycophant is a brown-noser in today's recontextualized context and my usage.

That's really the only point i feel is worthy to defend. The others are you simply picking on me for attempting to learn something.

None the less, thanks for answering my questions - albeit in the least desirable way.

I got what I wanted out of this forum...Thanks again.

I'm a brown-noser?

Look up the meaning, then get back to me.

... Which is largely due to the contributions of people like pookie. I cannot tell you how much I have learned from that guy (a considerable amount, truth be told...)

Thanks Brian:thumbsup:

I think my reputation must be slipping though, "I'm a brown-noser?".....ooh, low blow.

No, I agree - while I stand by the fact that he seems to lack basic forum etiquette, I still learned from his responses. The HD lens remark was due to all of the talk about the XL-H1’s supposed HD lens, it through a proverbial loop at me in the midst of my research.

"while I stand by the fact that he seems to lack basic forum etiquette"......

You don't know when to walk away do you?
