Mostly because it seemed like it would take the least amount of work, I built a 35mm adapter with the body of an old minolta SLR. I ripped the back off of it (in hindsight, I should have left the back intact, so I could close it to protect the ground glass when not shooting) glued the mirror upright, and glue-gunned a piece of Nikon ground glass where the film would normally sit. (and then added some classy electrical tape to seal the gaps)
I then added a second screw to mount my canon HV20 (and attached macro filter), and once that was in place, covered the gap with black construction paper (and classy masking tape... I ran out of electrical tape).
The resulting device, while unattractive
produces relatively acceptable results, and was remarkably quick to build.
