Hey everyone. I was originally gun hoe on the Redrock m2 Encore since the light loss is so minimal compared to its former models. But then after looking around these forums i noticed alot of people are against it and recomend something called the SGblade or letus?

What is the difference why is one better then the other ect? I have a budget of 2500 for one adapter. What would you guys recomend? This is for an indie film so it will need to be mounted on a shoulder rig system/or dolly/tri-pod of course.

So if i went with the Redrock how well does their follow focus work? Is it needed? Should i buy another follow focus thats cheaper? I have no clue how this would even work or if it can work with my hmc.. im very confused. Trying to do my H.W on all of this but i just need quick answers as im limited on time and cant seem to really find many answers.

PS. Does anyone know if this is a legit company or not? The product looks amazing for the $$. If not any where else i could look for somthing very similiar to this? Also how effective of a dolly system is it without a track?

Thanks!

I don't like the Redrock that much. Too overpriced in my opinion. As far as the Letus and SGblade. I only like the Letus Ultimate, and that's not worth $4k to me.

I either like the Brevis for a vibrating adapter with the Cinefuse XL ground glass because that seems to have the best edge to edge sharpness, and a much tighter grain pattern.

The G35 is also another adapter I really like because its static. No moving parts or batteries. It has such a fine grain pattern, that the HMC will never see the grain so there's no need to try to hide it with vibrating or rotating the ground glass. It's super sharp and doesn't even seem like that adapter is there.

For a follow focus and matte box, I like the Redrock or Arri.

For $2500, I would get:
Cinemek G35 and a Canon L series lens (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/264304-USA/Canon_8014A002_Zoom_Wide_Angle_Telephoto_EF.html)
That's a killer combo.

Any reviews on the cinemek G35? The forums there seem desolate and dead kinda rose a red flag for me... Yea redrock is overpriced and letus isnt worth it unless i get ultimate. Other then overpriced with the redrock (id purchase the 2k setup encore and buy a follow focus as well/shoulder cam) How does it do though? Quality? How long do the batteries last... Then thats the 2nd problem is we are doing long shoots so batterys running low or w.e could be a problem if we cant change them out.

What are cons of the G35?

Im not against a 7D either. However just would be worried about how much those babies can hold, and also no audio capabilites. If there is someone please shine the light on how to get audio with that. Does the "halo rig" work miracles steady wise?
