35 mm adapter and flip software

I have a home made 35mm adapter and I am pretty happy with the resulting image when it is upside down. However, when I flip the image (rotate 180 degrees in FCP) I can see pixelization and softness on my NTSC monitor, even when it is rendered.

Is anyone else struggling with this? What other software solutions might you suggest?

That seems odd. i don't get this. And I don't have to render when I flip the image.

There is a software that flips it on import but I can't remember who makes it. Probably redrock.

You need to use a flop, it's in your effects window. Under perspective, when you apply it you need to change it to BOTH in the settings window.

How much ram are you working with? Also what are you using for a video card?

Try reversing field order (assuming you're shooting interlaced) in your final render. By default, it's lower field first. Not sure on FCP, but PP1.5 requires this tweak on rotated footage.

Thank you all for your help. I don't think of myself as an FCP newb but this one stumped me. I was getting pixelization softness and a weird image vibration. This was when I used the motion tab rotation property or a combination of "flip" effects.

Using the "Flop" both effect I was able to clear up the problem. Thanks guys.:)
