35 DIY lens question--

I've searched around for this but--

I am building a 35 adapter using daniel's "jetsetmodels" specs for my DVX100b. I just won a bid on a Canon 50mm FD 1.4 lens and the adapter calls for a Canon EOS extension tubes set.

Question: Do I need an FD to EOS adapter to mount lens?

I must say, I was initially inspired by Edweirdo's "Yes I'm afraid I have another adapter" thread. I stumbled upon it last winter. I got sucked into it like they were scripts with maps leading to the holy grail. I read over every reply carefully and tried to keep up with all of the changes and mods. I loved Snodart's and Marlenedegrood's input.

Even though the thread was 2 years old- it still had life- it was amazing!! Sounds corny, but I couldn't wait to get to the next pages to see how all of the mods people were implementing were going. I was cheering Snod and Marlene on in hopes of their success...

Anyhow- this thread inspired me to really do some digging around- and (not sure if it was from Ed's thread or not), but I stumbled across Daniels "jetsetmodels" site and am going that route.

Wish me luck!

Yes, if you use EOS tubes, then you will need and mount adapter to use an FD lens.

Keep in mind that the flange focal length (distance from the GG to the rear flange of the lens) is different between those different mounts. There are some cons to using that adapter to mount FD lenses on EOS bodies. For more info check out this...

Thanks TiE!

Yeah, I was aware that the focal length would be compromised, I'm hoping I will be able to adjust where the gg sits to compensate for this. I'm hoping that Daniel, (or anyone else for that matter), will be able to offer some insight on this particular setup.

Yeah if you don't plan on using EOS lenses, then you could just get a mount adapter without the glass and set the GG to the FD flange. If you can find FD extension tubes, then that would eliminate alot of the hassle.
