32gb P2 Card????????

These seem like they're going to be useful.

I'm just imagining a couple of these and a couple of big batteries. I don't even think I'd need to dump footage off into a laptop. Nice, minimal setup.

:)

I'm tempted to buy a couple and sell my 8gig cards.

I have one 32gig and four 8gigers in my SPX800. Not Cheap, but lots of storage, only wish my 8gigers were upgradable to the 32gig size.
Much better to have one card in use, than having to swap out four or so..
mine cost $2200 AUD from local pana dealer, you guys in the states are getting much better deals than us P2 "Down under" users.
Cheers

32GB card here in the UK are pricey - £1010.50 inc VAT and that's from http://www.creativevideo.co.uk/public/view_item_cat.php?catalogue_number=panasonic_aj-p2c032rg

They're usually pretty okay on pricing!

Thats around $1975 USD and about $2236 AUD, so the Aussie's are paying around the same as us Brits, looks like you guys in the US have a great deal on the new 32GB cards - lucky you

I might see if I can get a dealer to ship over for a fair price? If B&H are doing it for
$1549 - that's only £792 - a couple of hundred quid difference I can put towards my tripod purchase.

Thought I'd chip in with my price spots - please let us know if anyone finds a great price who can ship to the UK - I'd appreciate it.

EDIT:
I just noticec that Creative Video's price is for two cards - one card is a little more at £1028

Hi Phil:

Yes, with the weak dollar, I would be buying all of my gear I can here in the U.S.. B&H also sells PAL and 220V lighting kits.

In Australia, anything over AUS $1000.00 is subject to gst (%10) and customs duty (think I paid %4).

You can probably just get a 16gb card through customs no probs. I almost purchased one from Fullcompass, think it was US $839 w/o postage and the aussie dollar is a bit stronger against the US now.

This from the Abelcine site:

http://www.abelcine.com/store/product.php?productid=1000400

Selected Recording times on a single 32GB card:
32 minutes in DVCPRO HD or AVC-Intra 100
40 minutes AVC-Intra 100 1080 24p native
80 minutes in DVCPRO HD or AVC-Intra 100 720 24p native
64 minutes in DVCPRO 50
128 minutes in DVCPRO
I've used them for all my HVX gear. Really good customer service. No complaints. Quick shipping...in the US at least.

They list 32GB P2 at $1599 US I think.

Hi guys, yeah I agree about the £ against the $ at the moment. I've been grabbing a few bits for my rig.

That B&H shop is like a kids toy and sweetie shop all rolled into one, but for grown ups (well kind of grown up - still just a big kid myself).

Cheers
Phill
