32-bit .wav files in Final Cut 7

I have a shoot's worth of 32-bit .wav files (5-track sound) that I so far haven't been able to convert to .aiff for editing in FCP7 on my iMac with an i3 processor. The .wav files do seem to import okay into my project, but is it better to convert them to .aiff to save processor power and just in general play better down the line in the Mac environment? If so, how do I convert these files? iTunes does not seem to accept them at all (is it the 32-bits???) so I can't convert them to .aiff there anyway. Could anyone recommend a good batch converter? Or would I be okay just using the .wav files as is?

I've never had any trouble using WAV files of any kind in FCP. The format it hates is MP3.

You can open the files in Compressor, where there's a setting for aiff and batch process them, there. But honestly, I see no reason to do that.

How's your system set for RAM?

Not polyphonic that I can see -- actually only two of the tracks have sound, one looks to be set about 10db below the other

If only two tracks have sound, i'd only bring those tracks into the timeline. For as disorganized an editor as i am, I like my audio neat as neat can be.

Is there a way to specify which of the two audio tracks go to the timeline -- or do I have to manually cut the other three tracks once I put the clip on the timeline? Thanks for any help...
