312asz led

I am looking for suggestions on a LED for use with my 7D... The 312ASZ LED kit looks good and has decent reviews.

I have a max budget of £150 ($235) And it would need to have a UK spec charger.

I am also looking at the HDV-Z96 LED and although it is not as powerful as the 312, it is alot cheaper at £58...

As on camera panel light (small led), hdv-z96 and 312 led is great. 312 led has two versions, 312a ( single color) and 312as (bi-color). which scene do you want to use? 312a is brighter than 312AS and 312AS is easy to adjust color temperature. In fact 312asz is only the tag they named the newest version.

I have hdv-z96 and 312a led. They are great. Not so versatile in every scene but is worthy to get. For your budget $235, you could get 2pcs 209as leds, only a little smaller than 312as and also a great one.

It will be used on a 7D camera for Music Videos... Close ups of singers, night time outside work etc.

Are these LEDs the genuine products as there are a few knock offs about.

Thanks.

I have both and use them when I need to travel really light and without expectation of plug in power. I have 3 312 lights for very tight key and fill shots and a z96 that I use as a hair light. They work well. But they don't put out a lot of light especially if you gel them. So they don't really work for much else than waist up interviews. The color temp changing ones are nice and flexible but only put out half the power of the dedicated color temp versions unless you set the light color right in the middle. They don't put enough power out to work outside unless it's pretty dark. Lots of companies like Ikan brand these as their own and tack on three times the price. Not sure how much better the newest "asz" version is. I have all the older and now cheaper ones.

Thanks, i am going for the 312A LED with filters... More light than the ASZ! Thanks for the help!

Ah, any more recommendations of where to buy from?

I bought mine on Amazon but you can also get them on eBay. The filters that come with them are pretty crap. I just gaff gels on.

I also recommand others about the Lanparte items and other rods. Maybe I also works for Lanparte. I only post my opinions and you could agree with it or don't agree with it. I ever needed lighting kit and learned many information here. I thought it was helpful to others because I think it's good.

OK, for the best solution, AMAZON and EBAY or B&H are the trust places you could go. Hope you could find what you want.

Ok thanks ;)

Would anyone say go for the colour change led instead of the brighter non colour change led for use with corporate videos?

What is more important to you... overall brightness or being able to change colour balance without having to mess with gels. I do a lot of run and gun work so for me it was the bi-colour version that made the most sense as I didn't have time to stop and put on Gels.
