30fps and 24fps on the same timeline?

Hello, this is my first post in dvxuser.com, but I've been following it for quite some time ever since I got my beloved DVX in October. I am applying for scholarships and a portfolio reel is required. I have Final Cut Pro HD 4.5 and I have multiple projects that are a combination of 24fps and 30fps, but when I tried to put them all on the same timeline, the 30fps footage had a lot of frame drops, as if FCP was trying to convert it to 24fps... Is there any way you can work with both kinds of footage on a single timeline? Thanks for all your time.

Re: 30fps and 24fps on the same timeline?

Well.. if you have a hard-core mac setup with an Ignitor or Kona card, a raid setup, and a buttload of ram. Then FCP would probably be able to work it.

But you're forcing 2 completely different frame rates of play into one. So either you make your 24fps footage work on the 30. Or vice versa.

I would personally edit the 2 sequences on completely different projects.

What you can try to do...
Work in a 29.97 timeline. import the 24p footage. Drag it into the timeline... then Render out the entire footage.
