3000th post, Oh my...

I was sitting here checking out DVXU and realized as of my last post, I hit 3000. Wow! I guess I should say thanks to Jarred and Barry and crew for having me and for building this cool site. When I first came on DVXUser I was thristing for all the info I could get about the DVX100, boy what a game changer that thing was. Personally I think we owe a lot to Panasonic. The DVX100 opened the door for all of us who wanted to make films, but couldn't afford it.

Ironically back then digital was what you did when you couldn't afford film, now it's simply what's done. Sure most Hollywood films still use film but many have turned to HD and some form of digital workflow comes into play. First 24p in a prosumer camera thanks to Panasonic, HD in a prosumer cam thanks to JVC (sister company of Panasonic) and here we are today. 24p HDV, ACVHD in all it's forms and now HDSLRs. Heck, when I was in film school we were cutting film with a razor at $5.00 per roll of 16mm film (let's not forget processing) LOL.

My first camera was a Panasonic PVDV100. It was used and had a hot pixel. We did one or two shorts on it then it became our deck when we got the DVX. We shot several shorts and two features between myself and my producer. We just sold the DVX last year. Now I'm moving into HD. It's like starting over from scratch. But that's okay. My Epitaph film will be the first feature I shoot on it. It'll take some time to get together but I'm looking forward to it.

I've definitely enjoyed my time at DVXU, I signed on to another forum the other day that deals specifically with those Canon cameras, but it just doesn't have that feel that DVXU has. None of the other forums I've been on do. But I just wanted to give a shout out and say thanks guys and peace out. :dankk2:

LOL, tell me about it. And how many people started out doing this as a hobby, only to now have a video studio in their apartment or homes.

OMG! Dude, Brandon was everywhere and look where it got him, he's in the big leagues now. I find when I'm writing I'm near my computer more often and find myself here during downtime and breaks.

Don't listen to max. :)
Here's to the next 6 years, Nathyn

Thanks Luis. I plan on it, as well as being more productive as far as output goes.
