I'm just not sold on the all-digital backgrounds. I know it's not supposed to look 100% real, and it's supposed to be a stylistic choice (a la Sin City), but the backgrounds are just *so* muddy and so fake-looking, it's just kinda like... uhhhh, I'm not buying it. I'll be interested to see how it does, however.
i'm the total opposite. I love the look of this film. The backgrounds give it such a comic fairytale feel, and rightly so. I saw the trailer before the departed and cannot wait for it to release!
yeah, I figure it's the same thing as that Sky Captain movie. I never bought the look, and therefore wasn't interested in the film. But I know some people liked the look and if they did, they usually liked the film. so go figure.
