Hi,
recently I was shooting a documentary about kayakers and we used 3 different cameras with 3 different formats:
HDV camera Sony HVR-V1 with mpeg2 codec, 1440x1080, 25fps
JVC camera with AVCHD codec, 720p, 50fps
GoPro HD Hero camera with some kind of h.264 codec (I assume), 720p, 60fps
I would like my final "product" to be 720p at 25fps. What would be the best way to combine this footage in Premiere? At first, I was thinking about converting the 60fps footage in AE using Twixtor. But after that what do you suggest would be the best timeline to use in Premiere Pro CS5? Or do I have to convert all of my footage into one format? And if so, what format should I use? I would like to loose as little quality as possible i.e. add as little compression to the shots as possible, preferably no compression at all. I have already edited my footage using HDV timeline (as we shot mostly HDV footage), having Premiere render the other formats for editing purposes - am I adding compression this way to the other types of footage (rendering AVCHD on HDV timeline)?
Next, I'm taking the documentary to a postproduction studio (Nuke) and they advised me to export TIFF sequence not to compress the footage. However, I'm not sure, if Premiere won't compress some of my footage before exporting, when combining the three codecs in one timeline. Or would it be better to export the TIFF sequences for each format from separate time lines? And is there also another way to export my footage out of Premiere CS5 without adding compression?
Thank you for any kind of suggestions...
