3-D track motion and processor power

I'm working on a project ( or trying to anyway) that has only a few tracks.
When I use a 3-D track motion effect on say the opening title, The preview is bad enough to where I have to pre-render the section to get a clean look at it.
This takes alot of time even if it's only say, six seconds. the render time is a couple of minutes.

Most everything else I do is exceptable effects wise. So I guess my question is, Are the 3-D effects that much of a processor pig or am I experiencing some other problem?
I'm running a 2.3 gig Intel with SATA drives that I use soley for video work. The files are going to a seperate drive from the operating system drive. I've never had any issues untill I started using the track motion stuff.

2.3 gig not enough for this kinda thing?
Thanks!

I have similar specs, and my render times are pretty long too on 3D track motions. It's processor intensive, kinda like Magic Bullet.

It does'nt seem to matter what preview quality I select. Just a slooowwww grind till it's done.

What are you using for a processor? I am dreading the upgrade not so much for the cash thing, but getting all of the send and reponse codes for my software sucks in a big way. What a great way to punish those who "buy" there software....... Ok I feel better now.

3D track motion is a pig, similar to Magic Bullet like J.D. said ... just get used to it until you get that ever lovin' super computer you've been dreaming about.
