3 clips (shot at 24p) ingested at 29.97fps on FCP

So I have 3 clips (Standard Definition) all of the same event TRT 01:45:00;00
Clip 1
DVX captured on the fly with FCP at 29.97 (Camera Mode 24p)

Clip 2
HVX captured on p2 cards at 29.97 (Camera Mode 24p)

Clip 3
HVX captured on FireStore at 29.97 (Camera Mode 24p)

The FCP project reads all clips at 29.97 however clip 3 has duplicate frames and its hard to tell the same with clip 1 & 3.

What are my options to multi-cam and have sync audio with no drifting in a sequence?

Thanks!
Carl

Was the firestore set to 24p in an SD mode? Those devices are quite finicky if the settings are off by even a small amount.

Go into the help menu on FCP, open up the User Manual, and do a search on multi-clip editing. That will help you be sure that all of your multiclip stuff is setup properly, just in case.

What kind of frame duplication are you getting? Is there a 2:3:2:3 pattern to it?

Set your canvas to 100% too... you'll see duplicate frames, but they aren't. The 100% will show all fields and then you'll see the interlacing.

The clip shot on the firestore has to have duplicate frames because its video is drifting in the multicam clip. I just want to figure out a way to preserve audio and contain no drifting (visual) in the multicam clip.

Excuse my question but doesn't 24p need to be placed on a 23.97 timeline? not 29.97?

It's a question I am not sure about.

No, 24p with the pulldown intact is to be edited on a 29.97 timeline...

if you remove the 3:2 or you shoot 24pA and remove the 2:3:3:2, then you edit on a 23.976 timline.
