3/8 - 5/8 adapter?

I'm in the process of buying a boom pole and shock mount, but I've been confused about whether I need to buy a separate adapter so that the two can fit together.

I'm probably getting this shock mount: http://www.sound-room.com/inc/sdetail/284 , and I'm not sure what boom pole (I'm assuming they would all have the same screw size at the end, right?)

I just wanted to know if I need to also make sure to get an adapter, and if so, what kind specifically (sizes and Male/Female).

Also, I saw a shock mount/boom pole on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-PRO78-SM-Mi...photoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1262
Do you think it's probably shoddy quality? I don't care too much about weight. It's maybe a little shorter than I'd like though.

Thanks!

Mic stand and mic holder threads almost universally come in one of those two sizes and most mic holders include an adapter to allow you to use it with either thread on the stand or boom. If not, almost anyplace that carries mic stands will have the adapters and they're only a couple of bucks - I'd just get three or 4 of both sizes and toss 'em into your goodie bag. They'll always come in handy - like I use two of them screwed together, a 5/8 to 3/8 screwed into a 3/8 to 5/8, to raise one mic holder a little higher from a stereo bar than the other when I set two mics for X/Y stereo recording - the extra 3/4 inch length of the 5/8 to 3/8 adapter raises the one mic clip just enough so the two mics cross each other perfectly.

I'd be cautious about that pole - likely to be $75 wasted. Cheap construction means it'll be heavy and as important the pole itself could be noisy, flexing and creaking. Don't poo-poo the importance of low weight - what seems light enough just hefting it in your hands can become oppresively heavy to the point of exhaustion after you've held it motionless at arms length over your head for the full duration of a 15 to 20 minute interview.
