2x teleconverter attachment?

I'm trying to convince my church to buy a DVX. I have one and it'd be great to have a second one for weddings and stuff like that, plus I'm about to get more involved and hopefully start up a video ministry.
Problem is that the 10x zoom won't reach to the front of the sanctuary, so that makes in uneligable immediately.

Is there a zoom attachment available for the DVX? I know there'd be light loss, but is there one anyways?

Century Optics is the only reputable one that I know of.. It's a 1.6x so you will get a 16x zoom ( http://www.centuryoptics.com/products/prodv/dvx100/16x_tc/16x_tc.htm ) However it will set you back about $750-900..

Jarred did a review of one of those el' cheapos from eBay and it ended up being a total disaster! You get what you pay for.

the century tele adapter will probably not be the miracle worker you would hope. I would go no where with out, but also know that it will NOT salvage a shot from the back of a long church. it is just not that powerful. the difference is as it says, 1.6 x.

though the only way you'd really know is if you bought or rented one and tested it. sorry!

why not try to whatever need be to get better access?
