I got my first real paying 2nd AC job. Real meaning I've always done free indie films where all I had was the slate and magic marker. So here's what I believe I should need and if anyone give me a hand and add on to the list on what I must need for 2nd AC job. Thanks!

Utility belt
Pouches
magic maker w/ eraser
can of air
alan wrench set / swiss army knife?
2" & 1" gaff tape in many colors
paper tape?
lens cleaning cloth and spray
flash light

The 1st AC should really have many of these things too... but considering your main job is to

a) help the 1st
b) fetch lenses for lens changes
c) keep cases organized
d) slate
e) keep camera reports
f) lay marks during rehersal, blocking, etc.

You will need the following:

Multiple Dry-Erase markers with eraser tips for use on the slate.
Many gel or ink pens for writing camera reports and etc.
camera report booklets or pads.
sharpie markers
multiple rolls of colored paper tape and/or T-marks for marking talent and blocking. Depending on size of cast within a scene, have that number of colors.\
rolls of white paper, red paper, and black paper tape
Chalk... makes great and fast marks on the ground when outdoors or etc.
Imperial and Metric alan key sets,
flashlight,
lens tissue,
lens solution for the rare occasion you need it (not everytime),
canned air or a blower bulb,
a big flathead screw-driver for helping the first get baseplates off.
the leatherman is a good idea because it will have useful things as a knife, small flathead screwdriver, pliers and the ever important bottle opener.

You get the drift. I've left off many many other things, because I felt they should perhaps be with the 1st AC, such as cable ties, spare camera screws, multiple small screw drivers down to size of eye glass repair, scissors, 1" velcro, 2" velcro, cloth wraps, hard measuring tape, soft measuring tape, leveler, camera wedges, zip ties, etc

If you are super professional:
A slate in case the production screws the pooch and doesn't get one (always check before a shoot if the sound guy or production is providing the slate)
a p-touch labler system. For labeling gear and the slate.
