250w Spot interior Extreme test

Lucky Duck
Just a couple of shots using the Letus Extreme with a single 250w spot (placed about 10 feet from subject) and there was also a 60w household table lamp switched on about 4 feet off to the left.

First shot was with 50mm f1.8 fully open on the Nikon and I closed the iris by about 2 stops from full open on the XHA1 itself (don't remember the exact f-stop on that).

Second shot was with 100mm f2.8 (at 2.8 here) and I opened up the iris a little on the Canon...you do the math...can't remember how much :)

Downrezzed to 720p. Used some dolly tracking for the shots. Featuring my daughter as my very sleepy test subject.

Nice, i see this thing really does perform under low light. Finally, something we can all use!

already ordered mine, but that creepy video just reconfirmed my decision :)

Well it's pretty obvious that this adapter is killer. Thanks for posting up more footage, disjecta.

I'm trying not to get caught up in the equipment but this thing is wicked in no/low light.

Another thing I just discovered -- the optics are different enough from the FE that you don't have to zoom in nearly so far with the Extreme, at least on an HVX200. On the FE, I'd zoom in to 44.0 mm. On the Extreme, I get the same field of view at 29.3mm. What does that mean in practical terms? Even less light loss than the FE, because you're not losing light sensitivity by having to zoom so far in!

I concur with that discovery...I noticed it the other day when I was checking for the optimal zoom number...I was able to zoom out significantly more than the FE

Barry hi,

could you name a couple of pro's and con's of the letus extreme....based on your experiences so far....how thrilled are you so far?

Best regards

Barry hi,

and one more thing how do you intend to solve the issue of rods, follow focus...

Best regards

cckid,

Please start a new thread with your question, it's completely off topic for this thread.

thanks! :Drogar-Happy(DBG):

disjecta,
Very nice indeed. It's amazing that you can get that much exposure with so little light. It also looks very sharp!!!

On a side note -- that A1 seems to give you some very vibrant colors.

Delivery Time:

I just received an e-mail from Letus. They said the units I ordered yesterday will ship in 3 weeks. So in 21 days from now is christmas time.

Thanks augenblick. Just ordered mine. Can't wait. BTW disjecta, I love that steady dolly approach to focus. I'd bet with a little climatic orchestral rolling music it would be intense.
