24pa footage appears interlaced, how can I fix this?

I've been looking around dvxuser, creative cow and the net for a day now and can't figure out how to solve this problem.

Here is my workflow:
Film in 24pa on the DVX100
Create a new 24p project in Adobe Premier CS3 Mac
Capture using scene detect

When I put the clips in my time line they appear interlaced. Also, when I go to clip properties it says that it is a 29.97 Quicktime file, but then when I scroll down to the video part of properties it says that the average frame rate is 23.97. Also, half the time that I hit f5 to capture I am told that the recording device can't be activated. I've never had this problem with FCP.

What am I doing wrong?

I just noticed another problem. It's importing my footage with a 1.2 pixel aspect ratio even though the project sequence is .9. The footage was not shot in squeeze mode. It was filmed with the original DVX100 which doesn't even have squeeze mode.

Thanks for the reply GreekStudios! I was afraid this thread was going to languish and die. I have tried to reinterpret the footage but it did not work. The problems persisted. I'm thinking that the problem stems from how premier is capturing the footage. It's not removing the pulldown and it's giving it a 1.2 anamorphic squeeze. Do you have any capture settings for when you are ingesting DVX100 footage into cs3 that you could share?

I know that Quicktime and CS3 have had issues as of late (especially concerning after effects), I wonder if some compatibility problem is at the heart of this.

thanks
