24pa capture issue

So I shot my footage on a DVX100b. Then took the panny AMQ tape and put it in my Sony DCR-TRV11 to capture in FCP. Capture is set on the 2:3:3:2 pulldown in FCP.

Problem occurs when I try and Batch Capture from my logged clips. FCP tries to capture but then a window appears saying there is a timecode problem or error reading the timecode(something like that, i forget). But then when I do the capture "now" function it is able to capture the whole thing. I guess this is fine because I can just subclip. But I was wondering why it wouldn't let me log and clip and then do a batch capture. Anybody have any suggestions?

Much appreciated! :dankk2:

(1) FCP + sub-clips = sadness. I consider it taking a risk to go that route as I've often found FCP to not play the nicest when later trying to do outputs from a timeline loaded with sub clips. Just an FYI there.

(2) Some cameras and decks are quirky about what camera the footage was shot on in the first place. I'd try hooking up the camera to FCP and trying a batch capture using the camera (at least just a few clips to test it out). If that all of a sudden works smooth, then its something about the deck being unhappy.

cheers.
