24p with Premiere 6.0?

Maybe this is a novice question, but is it possible to edit 24p footage using Adobe Premiere 6.0 (not Pro) and retain the 24p characteristics? Or is this going to require either Premiere Pro or FCP?

Thanks!

24p is not an option in Premiere 6.0 or even 6.5. I believe Premiere first use the designation "Pro" with version 1.0 (Premiere 7.0) and that's the first version to offer 24p support. Even then it won't work properly if you use the 2:3:3:2 pulldown (24pA)

IS it same with 25p PAL footage. I am editing this footage in Premier 6.0 DV PAL timeline and do not see red so far, yeah, the video looks lot crappy but I assume it's preview that looks bad, going to get me good DVD when I export( It's 4:3 letterbox, going to be exported to photozoom pro as TIFF files, trimmed to 720X486, call back in Premier 16:9 25p timeline, call in Adobe encore and subtitle it. am I in Dark?

regards

I've never work with PAL footage before so I really can't tell you, but 25p doesn't depend on a pulldown so it might work out fine. The thing is that in the preview what you see should be what you get; if there's some kind of preview setting option turn it up to best quality; if the footage looks bad in preview, it's going to look bad on export.

working with pal 25p doesn't require any pulldown, so just make sure when you're setting up your project that the 'no fields' option is selected, so it doesn't turn your progressive footage into interlaced footage.

Ooops! I think I had been indulging in somw wishfull thinking... My footage ( 25P 4:3 letterbox ) looks great in my DVX102 LCD. It was captured using Matrox 2500, It looked faded and dull than LCD(on a normal 15" Samtron monitir). But Video out to a Non-progressive TV was way horrible. Shaking frames(Strobing or temporary nterlace while in timeline?) badly bleeding colors, hazy picture and total color shift. I don't know which one to trust, LCD, Computer monitor, my TV or should I fetch a render on DVD (After Uprez and crop for 16:9) and check it on a TFT/Plasma ? also check it out
