24P with FCP 2

I'm in predicament. I have a DVX100 and am about to shoot my final project for a film/video production class. Unfortunately, we have to use the school's computers and they run Final Cut Pro 2. I believe I'm screwed and will just have to shoot 30i, though I'd like to make sure. Is there any way I could go ahead and shoot 24p? Thanks for the help.

Shoot 24p (F5) (not 24PA, F6)
Import as if it were regular DV 29.97 and edit it as regular 29.97 DV
It will still have the 24fps look since i was shot at 24fps. It's just been coverted in camera to 29.97 just like any movie transferred to VHS tapes.

Ok, great. So I shouldn't have any problems as long as I don't use the 24PA (F6) setting. What about audio, will I run into any problems when I'm shooting a scene that is synched? It sounds like I'll be fine overall, I just want to make sure because it's going to be a one time chance when I shoot this, I just didn't want to get to the editing room with a bunch of dropped frames, etc.
I appreciate your help.

Set FCP to Non-drop timecode (Firewire NDF)
Iff you haven't changed audio modes on the DVX (48k is normal audio rate but you can shoot at 32k as I recall) you should be fine.

If this is the DVX100 and not the DVX100A then your audio may be off by 2 frames. With new versions of FCP they have a plugin to handle this. If you notice it you should be able to offset the audio a couple of frames.
