24p with Cinema Tools (before or after?)

Hello.

QUESTION: Shot footage on 24p (48K audio), with Letterbox setting. Will be captured at 29.97 with 4:3 aspect ratio, and edited on 29.97 timeline. Output might be to video and DVD. Can the edited 29.97 sequence be exported to Cinema Tools to create a 23.98 sequence which can then be imported back into FCP for 24p DVD output?

I know that normally you would "reverse telecine" the raw footage before editing to timeline. For flexibility: wondering if there is any disadvantage to editing at 29.97 and then doing the reverse telecine on the final edit.

Thank you!

The problem is once it's been edited the cadence could change for each and every clip and you may cut at a point that will only return 1 field of a frames.
2:3:2:3 means there's a cycle of interlaced fields. There's 5 possible combination. When you capture they're all the same. Once you edit clisp together though you're not cutting on 5 frame increments so you may in a different part of the cycle.

If you wish to end up with 24 for film or DVD you should convert from the start and just edit in 23.98 sequence.
Adding 2:3 pulldown is easy. Removing it from an edited sequence is hard.
