I'm planning my workflow for shooting mostly web video and am trying to figure out the correct modus operandi! I have ye old dinosaur, the DVX100A. I know this question has been asked 1000 times but the more articles or threads I read the more confused I get!

I am shooting in 24p (Std not advanced) and capturing using the normal 29.97 NTSC time line and Capture preset. This is where I get confused. I have a basic understanding of the 3:2 pulldown thingy that's going on. Is there any reason to shoot in 24p Advanced and then capture with pulldown removal, I will get a smaller file but will it look the same as the other method??

I tried shooting a short clip in 24p advanced mode and then captured it with the pulldown removal preset. I was confused as to what timeline to use as FCP recommend I used a 29.97 timeline and under the quicktime > advanced tab it looked like the setting was on interlaced ??? I also don't know how FCP knows wether the footage is progressive or interlaced? I also selected the ProRes codec under the quicktime setting for the timeline, unless I'm adding other formats should I bother with this?

Ok, so all I need is a simple workflow for 24p footage that will be delivered via the web /Itunes.

I use a Canon XHA1 and when I capture my HD 24f footage I use 1080p24, so I think a DVX would have some sort of 24p option, instead of 29 fps.
