24p timeline advantage

How I can avoid it? it's looks worses than I had with my 1cc camcorder...
maybe something wrong with a DVX-setup, scene-lights, Shutter-speed...?
It looks very badly... Can somebody help with it?

Another question regarding 24p. Could someone explain:
E.g. I have 24p project with 24p file in NLE If I render it as 24p uncompressed I can see by even windows properties it as 23.97fps, but if I render it as DV 24p with inserting proper pulldown - I see it as 29.97fps. ;(
Can somebody check their 24p files, which were just captured in 24p mode? what *fps their have?
Thank you.

DV is 29.97. That's why you put in the pulldown -- to make it NTSC-DV compliant. You add frames (made from the 24p frames). It can then be viewed on an NTSC TV.

But it will still LOOK like 24p, which is what you want.

And if you want to edit in 24p, remove the pulldown and go back to 23.97.

Ok, thank you for that. It's clear!
How about my question which one post above? Is it any real chance to improve that quality by doing re-shoot? Or this is a DVX destiny...

It’s a hazard of working with the chroma sampling of DV (meaning DV25, what the DVX and all digital consumer cams use). You’ll find this problem with most DV 3-CCD cameras, to varying degrees.

Your 1-CCD camera might have hidden the problem because its imaging isn’t as good and it doesn’t separate colors by CCD. And was it digital? (I assume so, of course.) If it was analog, it wouldn’t have the problem because there’s no compression or digital sampling.

Light well and watch your exposure.

Thank you. I will play with that to find something.
If anybody has some recommendations to avoid or decrease this pixelation, please do it.
I will highly appreciate it!!!

Thanks,
Alex.

No, it’s the DV25 format. It’s compressed at a 5:1 ratio, is low-resolution to begin with, and has a very poor color-sampling ratio. All the tape does is hold the data, and it would be same if stored on anything else, like disc.
