24p timeline->24p dvd (2:3 pull or not)

I edit a 23.97 fps timeline.  I want to make a 24p dvd.  When rendering in mpg2 from Vegas, there's a template called "DVD Architect 24p NTSC Widescreen video stream".  I noticed that in the video tab, the frame rate is set with this template at "23.97 + 2:3 pulldown".

If I want to make a 24p DVD, do I put 23.97 or 23.97 + 2:3 ?  I may be wrong, but what I understand is that if I make a 23.97 + 2:3 the acual framete rate will be interpolate to 29.97 fps, from a 23.97fps footage.  Can I put on a dvd a real 23.97 fps content?  Will this be playable on a non-progressive TV?  Sorry newbie questions, I'm a little confused about these.

Use the template "23.97+2:3 pulldown". This is infact a true 23.97 progressive scan template and it is only adding flags that tell your dvd player to insert the 2:3 pulldown. You can do a test to find out for yourself. Render 1 minute of your file with the template, and then render the same minut at 29.97fps. Look at the file size and you will notice that the template is smaller. If you don't add the 2:3 pulldown, DVD architect will try and re render your file as it is not NTSC compatable.

Had the same question a week ago and yes your correct on the mpeg render. Worked like a charm.
