24p slow motion problem

Hey guys,

I shot on 24p, imported footage regularly on 29.97 timeline... and when i make it slow mo (reduce to 50% speed), it gets super choppy. its very evident when i burn it to dvd and play it on tv. not as much so when i just view it in the viewer of fcp.

any ideas of why this is happening? or what could i do to fix it?

im not sure if importing regularly or with advanced pulldown would make a difference?

its 24p, not 24pa

thanks

Listen, I am having the same problems right now and am working in Premiere. I cannot figure it out. Thing is, I shot in 30p and slowed down to 60%. This is not ideal (80% is preferred) but it still looks pretty nice. Ive rendered out clips before, exported to DVDs and no problem. It all looked fine. But now, I am getting the choppy effect and I, for the life of me, cannot figure it out. If I pull my sequence into a new nested sequence, its choppy. However, from the original edited sequence, it runs fine. What the hell???

Any ideas guys (and gals?)-

This is killing me.

maybe you are looking at an old render file? try dropping the clip in again and applying your speed change and see what happens

hmmm....i suppose i can give it a shot. at this point, i am way way WAY desperate. ill try running nude through the town screaming "the sky is falling" if i think that will help.
