I recently shot a short film with the DVX-100 in 24pA mode in 4:3 maked off for 16:9 uprez to HD. I'm planning to cut at 24fps, digitizing at 23.98. Is there a way to bring the 4:3 footage already clipped for 16:9? Or do I need to make my own widescreen matte and apply to the timeline in order to cut with widescreen framing?
Do I need to cut using FCP HD to go to HD or can I use FCP 4? Do I need Cinema Tools or DV Film Maker to export this to HD tape eventually?
Any advice/experiences to share with any of the above are greatly appreciated.
