24p Question.

I may have finally found a camera. I want to thank everyone thus far for answering this newb's questions.

I have found a Sony VX2100. This camera DOES NOT shoot in 24p. Will I still be able to get Cinema like looks and will the editing be any different. I have found this camera from a local seller for 1500.00.

I am really hoping that I can get cinema looks and be able to shoot quality work without 24p.

Can someone please give me some advice.

I don't know wether quality and 24p go hand in hand? I think you can shoot quality video with any camera especially a three chip.Seems to me you will have to process your footage through something like dvfilm makers package to get 24p results. What about picking up a used DVX? They can't be much more than the price your going to pay for the sony eh? I think quality comes from careful lighting and composition among other things...Hope this helps

I have been looking for a DVX cause' that is my first choice. I seem to not find any under 2 Grand though. :(

I'd just save more money until you get a DVX. They aren't going anywhere and I think they are MUCH better than the VX2100. I've shot on that camera before, and although the quality isn't that bad, I would get more of a production camera....
