24p or 24a?

For the best results when editing in PPro 1.5 should I be shooting in 24p or 24a with my DVX100a?

I have footage that has been shot in 24p. Will PPro do a proper progressive scan with footage at 24p or should I be shooting at 24a?

If you want to edit in a 24p timeline, shoot 24pA.

If you want to edit in a 60i timeline, shoot 24p.

That's all there is to it.

Let me add...Premiere 1.5 will not properly remove the pulldown from 24p footage, so I would say always shoot 24PA if you're editing with version 1.5. Another bug with 1.5 is it reads all 24p footage as 23.976, when it's opened in a 29.97 timeline. So my best advice would be to upgrade to 2.0 or CS3. But if you just want to edit 24p in a 23.976 timeline, shoot 24PA and it will work fine.
