Working on a Powermac G5 and Final Cut Pro 5. Shot in 24p Normal and wanted to work in 23.98 timeline, so I tried a trial run with a few clips. Did a reverse telecine in Cinema Tools and edited the clips in a 23.98 timeline then tried to export to a Quicktime movie. No luck. Got a "general error" message everytime. I did a clip analysis and it said the frame rate was 24, so I assume I did the normal pulldown (reverse telecine) correctly. Does anyone know why that would create a problem exporting to Quicktime? When exporting the sequence, I selected "Current Settings" on the Quicktime movie dialog box. Also, I've been very curious about something in the Sequence Settings dialog box where you set the timeline value. There is an option (I think in the advanced section) to choose either interlaced or progressive. If you are selecting a 23.98 timeline to work in, do you need to select progressive also? I would think you would but in all the things I've read about editing in 24p, I've never seen this option button mentioned.
