24p Mpeg2 Still goes into DVDSP as 29.97?

Hey, im using compressor to export a timeline to a 16 x 9 custom preset that is set at :

23.97
progressive
7.0 bit rate
16 x 9

But when i import bring it in to DVDSP it still says the file is a 480i 29.97 asset.

any help?

Can DVD's play 24P or must it be pulldown to 29.97?
I don't know the answer, but that might be what is happening. DVDSP is doing a pulldown.

Yes, DVD players can handle 24p because they add pulldown themselves.

So it why is it telling me its a 29.97 asset, when in the actual world and all its a 23.98 asset?

You should be fine using compressor to DVDSP. As I recall it doesn't list the fps correctly but does do the right thing when it makes the DVD. If you used QT export then DVDSP (at least version 4?) would not do the right thing.

ok, thats good. ive looked at the DVD on a DVD player after burning, and i cant see it stuttering, but the DVD player doesnt give info on playback frame rate. But it looks fine to me i guess. Thanks alot!
