24p into FCP... problems :-(

I'm trying to import 24P from my DVX100B into FCP6

I've gone to easy setup and changed to 24fps with DVCPRO/Panasonic setting. It doesn't seem to matter what setting i use because once i import the footage into my timeline it wants to change it back to 29.97

This is after I've changed my sequence settings to 24p.

Any ideas?

24P runs at 29.97fps. It is 24pA that you can capture as 23.98 using the Advanced Pulldown Removal Easy Setup. But that setup doesn't work with regular 24p.

Just edit at 29.97...you already have the 24p look. Nothing wrong with 29.97. It is a perfectly good format that people don't seem to like lately. It's feelings are starting to get hurt. It's lonely...nobody wants to play with 29.97 anymore. Alone on the playground...
