24P footage in FCP - Horizontal 'Jaggies' on Playback/Compression

I have captured 24P footage shot on the DVX100 to FCP HD on the regular DV NTSC Timeline...with regular capture presets. Upon compression to an MPG2 file, I get vertical 'jaggies' around any of the action. This is NOT on my camera and it plays like that on LCD and CRT televisions.

Sooo...I created a new sequence using the 23.98 fps preset and moved the files over to that sequence, re-compressed and still get jaggies.

I know that field dominance issues can sometimes cause problems, but on anything that's 29.97 fps, the dominance defaults to NONE and is greyed out.

What am I missing here? Do I have to recapture the files with the new pre-sets? When I check file info it gives me the 23.98 fps info. on the files, so I assume it's ok.

Am I compressing the files wrong? Is there a setting I am missing? How can I change field dominance on the actual clip or when I capture?

Any help would be appreciated.

Im not a DVX user, but I think I have heard this before, computers dont like 24p in a 29.97 timeline, someone correct me if im wrong.

24p should be captured 29.97 (std NTSC)
If you need 23.98 then use Cinema Tools to reverse telecine.
You can set the clips to be lower field first. Shoudln't have to but if you import/export to other programs it's a good idea. Are you using Compressor? Set to 60minutes for best quality.
