24p editing base, 24 or 30

i know that both 24p and 24pAdv should be captured in 29.97, but my question was if i could edit the regular 24p footage in a 29.97 time base or if it would be better to conform it in cinema tools to edit in 23.98.

My output will be in a native 24p dvd using dvd studio pro.

24pA is meant to be edited in a 23.976 timeline.
