24p edditing on FCP?

If I plug my DVX100A via firewire to my emac and us FCP 4, will FCP take the 24p footage I shot in dirrect as 24p or do I need to first do a conversion in cin. tools in order to get the 24p look? -Thanks for any help

i beleive FCP4 has a 24p timeline to edit in, but i dont have experience using FCP very much.

DVX100 already has the 24fps 'look' because it wass filmed at 24fps. (assuming F5 or F6 modes)

if you shoot in squezed mode do you capture as anamorphic or do you just mark it as anamorphic?

I'm still a little confused on the capture/edit process with 24P.

If I'm shooting footage for a music video that will end up on S Beta tape for broadcast which of the following do I do?

1. Shoot in 24P Standard then capture and edit as 29.97.

2. Shoot in 24P Advance then capture and edit as 29.97.

3. Shoot in 24P Advance then capture as 29.97, advance pulldown removal in Cinema Tool, then edit as 23.98 in Final Cut.

4. Shoot in 24P Advance then capture and edit as 23.98 using the advanced 2:3:3:2 removal pulldown in Final Cut during capture.

Sorry if this is a redundant question, I'm just a little confused when it comes to all the different options available.

Two choices.
1. Shoot 24p (F5). Capture, edit, output at 29.97. It's 24fps but standard video compatible.
2. Shoot 24pa (F6). Capture in FCP with Advanced pulldown removal, edit 23.98, output with playback set to add 2:3:2:3
